Description
Description:
This species inhabits India, Thailand, Vietnam, and Myanmar. The species is characterized by its unconventional coloration. They have a red spot (or two spots in the case of smaller workers) on their abdomen and unusual hairiness. Hairs can even be seen on their head and legs, which sometimes gives them a white color in the sunlight. They are active and, for a Camponotus species, not particularly aggressive. Colonies develop fairly quickly and can reach several thousand workers. Previously known as Camponotus xiangban.
