These ants employ mimicry, resembling the more aggressive and dominant Crematogaster scutellaris. They are xerophilic and arboreal, nesting primarily in dry wood, occasionally in the ground. They cultivate aphids, are very courageous but not overly aggressive. Colonies can reach several hundred workers.
