Description
A rare species in ant keeping, Messor muticus colonies can grow up to about 5,000 workers. These ants are calm and easy to keep, featuring a soldier caste, making them a great alternative to Messor barbarus. Muticus is slightly smaller and its colony reaches a more compact size; they are also significantly rarer, making them ideal for keepers seeking convenience and uniqueness. Like all Messor species, they feed primarily on seeds.
