Description
Heterothele gabonensis – a small, attractive tarantula originating from Gabon. It grows to about 3–4 cm body length. It features a dark coloration with a metallic sheen and a distinctive pattern on the abdomen. A behaviorally very interesting species – known for often tolerating tank mates in captivity, forming so-called communal setups. Fast, but usually non-aggressive, although it can be defensive when threatened. It leads a terrestrial-burrowing lifestyle, webbing extensively. Requires moist substrate and good ventilation. Recommended for intermediate keepers and those interested in observing the social behavior of tarantulas.
