Description
Tetraponera rufonigra, also known as the Bicolored arboreal ant, establishes nests mainly in tree crevices, preferring those with higher humidity levels. They are skilled hunters and fiercely defend their territory, indicating high aggression. Individuals stung by this species complain of severe pain, breathlessness, loss of consciousness, and anaphylactic shock. The venom of this species is similar to that of ants such as Odontomachus monticola, Myrmecia pilosula, and Myrmecia gulosa.
