Description

A very interesting and desirable Ponerinae species from Asia, known for their highly aggressive temperament, yet one of the easier species from this subfamily to rear. We personally keep them in test tubes with peat so the larvae can pupate. They require a lot of protein—preferably in semi-live form, as they actively hunt and prefer still-living insects. Their growth rate is surprisingly high for ants of this size, with a colony of around 3 workers easily producing 40-50 pupae.
