Description

An interesting color variation of the Porcellio scaber species. They are easy to breed, and reach a size of up to 1.8 cm (0.7 inches). The recommended temperature range for them is 18-23°C (64.4-73.4°F), though they have the ability to tolerate higher levels. The wild form is common in Poland (rough woodlouse). In my experience, this is the most desirable morph of scaber. It provides a lot of joy during selection because the selection process is not black and white; it gradually progresses from generation to generation - the isopods become increasingly reddish, with less gray.
