Description

Sold specimens are approximately 3-5cm (1.18-1.97 in).

Also called the rusty millipede or common Asian millipede due to the widespread occurrence of this species in Asia and its rusty-orange color. They prefer to inhabit moist forest areas rich in decaying wood and compost. In captivity, we feed them a mix of soil with leaves, wood rot, and calcium. Additionally, we provide fruits, vegetables, and protein in the form of dried insects. They are very easy to care for and breed well. When disturbed, they secrete an unpleasant-smelling liquid from their skin to deter predators. They grow up to about 6cm (2.36 inches) in body length. A harmless and beneficial arthropod, they can be successfully kept in terrariums and vivariums.
