Description
Tapinauchenius sanctivincenti is a fast and attractive arboreal tarantula native to the Caribbean island of Saint Vincent. It reaches about 5–6 cm in body length, and 12–14 cm with leg span. The species is distinguished by a velvety, dark coloration with purple-blue reflections visible under light. Very fast, it can be defensive, but does not possess urticating hairs – in defense it relies mainly on lightning-fast movement. It requires a tall terrarium with good ventilation, hiding places in the form of cork bark tubes, and elements for climbing. Recommended for intermediate and advanced keepers.
