Description
Cyriocosmus elegans – one of the smallest tarantulas in captivity, native to South America (including Venezuela, Trinidad). It grows to about 2–3 cm in body length. An extremely striking species – featuring a distinctive light heart-shaped pattern on its abdomen contrasting with a dark background. Very fast, but generally non-confrontational. It leads a terrestrial-burrowing lifestyle, readily digging and heavily webbing the substrate. Requires moist substrate, good ventilation, and stable temperature and humidity conditions. Also recommended for less experienced keepers due to its small size and attractive appearance.
