Description
This easy-to-keep crustacean reaches an average body length of about 1.5cm (0.6 inches). When disturbed, it curls up into a ball, but unlike Armadillidium, it does not retract its antennae. It is quite common in Europe, often found in human-altered environments such as greenhouses or barns. It is very easy to breed, preferring humid conditions, and it tolerates beginners' mistakes well. Excellent as a cleanup crew for terrariums.
