Description

The acrylic nest for ants, model Honeycomb, has been the most well-received nest by the ant-keeping community for years. If you are tired of nonsensical nests with one or two entrances, partitions that force the dismantling of the nest, watering accessible only from one area, or even without zones at all, then this product will certainly satisfy you because it has been designed from the beginning with the well-being of ants and the convenience of keepers in mind.

Acrylic nest measuring 20x20 cm.

1. One entrance on each side, totaling 4 entrances.

2. Five separate chambers of varying sizes - allowing for gradual nest expansion without shocking the colony. No cork partitions or other inconvenient ”contrivances” :)

3. Each chamber has access to hydration.

4. The nest can accommodate multiple ant species, even up to 4 species simultaneously.

5. Ventilation is incorporated into the chamber pattern, providing adequate airflow where needed.

6. Passageways between chambers are designed as a kind of labyrinth, preventing ants from simply moving in any direction. To enter the nest from the "right" side and exit from the "top," ants must create an interesting trail.

7. I am an avid enthusiast of ants that have a knack for escaping. The entrances are designed to fit snugly with the 8mm tubing, so you really have to give it a good squeeze to get it inside. There is no chance of accidental escape or even the tiniest ant squeezing through the sides.

PS: The nest has recently undergone improvements, with slightly wider passageways between chambers to allow larger ants like Camponotus ligniperda to move freely.
