Description
Drosophila melanogaster (flightless fruit flies) is one of the most popular feeder insects, making it an ideal food for ants, mantises, arachnids, or small reptiles. Melanogaster are "the smaller ones" of the two most common species in breeding, suitable even for the smallest pets, reaching about 2 mm (0.08 in) in size. We ship our fruit flies in a container (500 ml) with ready-made food for about a month. The container contains roughly the number of adult flies you choose in the variant, along with hundreds of eggs and larvae. These flies have a very short development cycle, so 10 or 20 individuals are enough to produce hundreds of them in a new container after about two weeks.
